Late Summer/Early Fall.....Harvest Moon

Well it has been quite the few months, I almost forgot I had a blog and it would be nice to update it once in awhile....sorry folks.

We have had a wonderful year, our Quarter Horse TA Ritas Bar Dancer had a beautiful filly with our Appaloosa Stallion The Rebel Tzadkiel.  Congratulations to Matt and Katherine Dean on their purchase of Jessie's Memory.  And what a beautiful polka dotted filly she is too, pictures to come later, she just turned 3 months old and is already catching up to her 15.2 Dam and Sire!

This is a tentative or rather Early announcement but we have in the works a purchase on a EAI Silvereen Son!  A beautiful Grey and a very exciting moment for us here in Maine.  There is a devoted Arabian Horse Community up here but not as many farms as we would like hoping Darq Sultan and Apolo El Masr will spark and interest.  Also coming our way is Asil Giza a Black Arabian Mare 99% Egyptian heavy Babson, she is in foal to Asil IBN Rayaih so we will finish off the year with big happy smiles on our faces.  Fingers crossed everything lines up and we can expect them to be arriving in Maine SOON....

Princess Azraella is in foal to Rebel Tzadkiel and LandAce Wind Dancer is in foal to Darq Sultan.  If anyone is interested please email me at blueamethystfarms@gmail.com or call 207 248-7874 for more information.

The ISHRA is having their Online Horse Show ending Oct 1st you can still get in entries.

Baby Girl Matriel Sundori has been hanging with Sullie since April so fingers crossed on that Match should be an exquisite foal, Matriel has really blossomed this year she reminds me of Naseem all the time now.

On another note my son and beautiful daughter in law had twins arrive in May 2013  Jillian Marie Ann and John Arthur Karl both doing fantastic such a joy to be a grandmother at this time in my life, looking forward to visiting for the holidays.

Sullie and I are training for a distance ride in October if we don't get up to speed we will hold off until spring more me getting in shape than him.

Also working on the web site hoping all is up and running by January you can check out our FB page though for some updates too.

Peace everyone enjoy THE HARVEST MOON.....

Still Snowing in March.....

Wow it is March 2013 already and still snowing, I just realized between New Years and today I had not posted any updates to the blog....well this is one exciting year, we have 5 foals coming the first one out of TA Ritas Bar Dancer my Quarter Horse and The Rebel Tzadkiel my Appaloosa Stallion is due any day now.  Reb is being considered for Registry into the Foundation Books for the ISHRA hoping this pulls through as he is such a wonderful guy.  Sullie is doing really well after his couple of months of losing weight and not knowing what the problem was, alot of blood work and Vet bills later it seems he just wanted to be home with his girls and me.  As his stall is right out the back door he gets alot of treats.  Hopefully Sullie will be up to attending to a few girls this year very soon, the other day my Percheron Mare backed right up to his paddock and lucky for me I heard him screaming Yea Ha so I ran right out saying No no no.....

Matriel Sundori is my next mare to foal she will be having another AraAppaloosa knowing Reb this foal will be a duplicate of Eloa last years filly.  Either way those two produce the best foals very colorful and spirited.

Jillian Mac my Percheron Mare was put in with Reb when she arrived but I am not sure she took as she was acting like she was in heat the other night.  Jill is being considered for an approved breeding mare with the SugarBush Draft Registry.  I was too late in sending in the request for her to be consider Foundation Stock, I am sure she will pass inspection as she is beautiful and exactly what their standards call for.  Then her foals will be Stonewall Sporthorses or Sugar Bush Drafts.  If Jill was registered with the Percheron Registry I could put her with Sullie and have a Desert Norman.  Still could but the foal would be a registered half arabian.  Jill has one of the sweetest faces I have ever seen she should give me wonderful foals.

Princess Azraella my Black Arabian mare is next in August with an AraAppaloosa, Princess throws Black foals and Reb is a Leopard Appy so this should be interesting to see what I get with these two.  Both are leggy and tall, slender builds but powerful, Princess has taken her turns on the Endurance field and Reb is on his way.

The last is Landace Wind dancer, she is the only one giving us a Pure Bred foal this year.  Ace is in foal to Sullie.  Darq Sultan "Sullie" is a homozygous Black Arabian Stallion.  Having late fall babies gives me some extra time with the foals as I will not present them until late spring of 2014.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful year so far and I look forward to seeing everyone at this years Open House and BQ.......marie

Happy New Years!!!  Well we have been off to a slow start in 2012 with the new guys not respecting electrical fencing and Sullie still off at my friend Cathanna Jackson's House until I can secure the area, do not wish to see 2 Stallions in a fight.  I did put Princess with Reb and Dancer with Sullie.  My Quarter Horse TA Ritas Bar Dancer's foal is going with Matt and Katherine Dean so I will have 2 AraAppaloosa foals, 1 SugarBush Draft/Stonewall Sport Horse and a Purebred Arabian for sale.  I will list them as they are ready to go....you can email me at blueamethystfarms@gmail.com or message on this post..

Best Wishes to Everyone for and exciting 2013....Marie

August News

Hello Everyone, I am getting a little  ahead of myself with the farm, we will not be offering any edibles until next year, and probably the following year for the wines depending on Grammy's recipe...I will be experimenting and trying it out on family first...Ha Ha Ha....Over the winter I will be testing the teas and hopefully next summer have some ready.  I will have the web site up and running then also..

We are expecting 3 foals next year so far, an Appaloosa/Quarter Horse Cross, an AraAppaloosa, and a Percheron/Appaloosa Cross which would be a Stonewall Sport Horse.  Hopefully the SugarBush Draft Registry will accept Jill (our Percheron Mare) into the Foundation Books, if that happens then we will have Registered SugarBush Drafts to offer in the coming years.  The SugarBush Drafts were beautiful carriage horses and are quite the sight to behold.  I am hoping that by going with the original cross I can come very close to what Mr. Smith had intended when he began.  Check out the sugarbushdrafthorse.com web site for more information.  I have yet to decide if I am going to breed the Arabian Mares this year, I think 3 foals at this point is enough.  And I think Princess and Dancer would like to follow Sullie in a couple of distance rides next year!

Thank you everyone for your patience and I hope to have a full exciting year next year with lots of happy faces gracing the Farm...PEACE

It has been quite the summer, the weather has been hot and cold, hot and cold, we even had the woodstove going in June.....The critters have done well even though the rain has kept them in the run ins they look great. Reb is going to begin training this month and hopefully be riding by the fall.  Dancer and Matriel are coming along fine with being in foal so expecting two new additions in the spring.  Baby Mei Eloa is getting big, she has wonderful muscle tone and still the longest legs, just beautiful...
